is a type of wastewater produced at home from anywhere except toilets, urinals,
and any drains with garbage disposals. The wastewater, or greywater, systems
are modifications of septic system technology (Anderson, 2003). Septic system
technology uses a combination of nature and proven technology to treat
wastewater from household plumbing produced by kitchen drains and laundry, and
bathrooms, and it usually consists of a septic tank and a drain field. This
means that greywater is useful as irrigation and is available for reuse
(Anderson, 2003).
